NHS Art Student Receives Prestigious Acceptance

NHS senior and AP art student, Anais St Amant Senior AP art student recently received her acceptance letter into the Scholarship Class for Talented High School Students at The Art Students League of New York.

 

Anais is the lead Set Club painter and National Art Honor Society Finance secretary. According to her art teacher of four years, Mrs. Theresa Lappostato, Anais is, “a pretty amazing and humble student.”

NHS Marching Band Prepares for New Season

More than 50 years ago, the Nutley Raider Marching Band was formed, with its only purpose being to support the Raider Football Team at their games. Today, the NHS Marching Band still sticks to its roots, by going to every varsity game and playing various “stand tunes” in the bleachers, such as Seven Nation Army or Timber. However, the band’s main focus has shifted to something else: competition.

Original Classic Movie Remakes of 2019

The majority of classic animated films were created in the 1900s.  Starting with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which was first released in 1937, to Pinocchio (1940), Cinderella (1950), Peter Pan (1953), 101 Dalmatians (1961), and The Jungle Book (1967), animated films became largely popular throughout the 20th and 21st century.  The movies Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Peter Pan, The Incredibles, The Lion King, and Aladdin have been remade in the past decade or are in the process of being recreated.

Industries all across America are joining the celebration by selling rainbow-colored merchandise to represent the gay pride flag. Beverly Hills 90210 Is Back

On October 4, 1990, Beverly Hills 90210 premiered on FOX. Twenty years later, the show is coming back to television as a reboot with much of the original cast  returning. The cast includes: Shannen Doherty as Brenda Walsh, Tori Spelling as Donna Martin, Jennie Garth as Kelly Taylor, Jason Priestley as Brandon Walsh, Ian Ziering as Steve Sanders, Brian-Austin Green as David Silver and Gabrielle Carter as Andrea Zuckerman.  Luke Perry, who played Dylan McKay, will not be returning as he passed away from a severe stroke this year.

Sabrina The Teenage Witch vs. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, of Riverdale fame, has a new spin off called Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and it is inspired by the show that aired in the fall of 1996 called Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The series stars Kiernan Shipka of Mad Men as Sabrina. Sabrina is a young woman that is struggling to choose between becoming a witch like her family or remaining mortal/human. This is a hard decision for her as forces of evil conspire against her.

Welcome the New Royal Baby, Archie

Welcome Baby Sussex to the world. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their little bundle of joy on May 6, 2019. They appeared with their baby for the first time at  St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle two days after he was born. After appearing outside, they announced his name on Instagram; Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
