On Tuesday, November 6, voters around the country hit the polls for the 2018 midterm elections. Up for consideration were 35 Senate seats, and all 435 spots in the House of Representatives.
NHS Senior Attends Science and Technology Conference
The Nutley High School Indoor Percussion ensemble is preparing to start their third season this November. Despite the group’s short life span, they are no stranger to success. After taking the first place title in the Regional A division at the US Bands Championships in April with their show “Toxicity,” they have a big reputation to live up to for this upcoming competition season in winter 2019.
Clubs are an essential part of school life for many students at Nutley High School. With approximately 40 groups, there is something for everyone to enjoy. After school on Tuesday, September 25, students were given an opportunity to discover and sign up for clubs at the annual Club Fair in the cafeteria, with representatives from almost every club present. Mr. Joseph Materia, one of the vice principals at NHS and organizer of the event, says, “Of all the club fairs that I’ve been at over the past several years, I feel like this was one that was represented by most of the clubs.

The "Every Day Counts" Committee at Nutley High School has helped to promote the NHS "Every Day Counts" Campaign created by Mrs. Jackie Devore, a NHS vice principal. The committee created posters that were hung around the school, and created, printed, and sold tee-shirts with the slogan, "Miss School, Miss Out."
The group, consisting of NHS students Robert Nyakairu, Justin Rosario, Sean Mendoza, and Fernando Filian, created this comic for the campaign.
The world of journalism is a complicated business. Throw in the politics of sports and the difficulty of live television, and you will find yourself in the realm of Jack Curry. Curry is a reporter and analyst for the Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network, or YES Network. The 53-year-old covers all things New York Yankees, from player interviews to pre and post game analysis. On Friday, April 27th, Curry visited the Nutley High School journalism class.
