The majority of classic animated films were created in the 1900s. Starting with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which was first released in 1937, to Pinocchio (1940), Cinderella (1950), Peter Pan (1953), 101 Dalmatians (1961), and The Jungle Book (1967), animated films became largely popular throughout the 20th and 21st century. The movies Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Peter Pan, The Incredibles, The Lion King, and Aladdin have been remade in the past decade or are in the process of being recreated.
In 1984, Alex Trebek started his well-known career and was hired as the host of the trivia show Jeopardy! Thirty-five years later, during 2019, Trebek has become more well known across different platforms because of his struggles. On March 6, 2019, an official video of Alex Trebek was posted where he stated that he was battle stage four pancreatic cancer.
In the previous issue, the Maroon and Gray previewed some of the new movies from both Marvel and DC Comics. Now, the Maroon and Gray will provide a brief overview focusing on the few unreleased movies from DC Comics. These movies are set to be released in 2019 and 2020.
Each year, an estimated eight million metric tons of plastic are polluting the ocean each year. Most plastics that are produced are designed to be single-use products, which harm the environment, organisms, and humans. As plastic is tossed around in the ocean, much of it breaks down into tiny pieces called micro-plastic. These smaller pieces are ingested by smaller organisms including bacteria, plankton, and small fish. The larger predators of the food chain hunt the smaller organisms.
Marvel and DC Comic fans have always been enthusiastic about new movie ideas or trailers. People see their favorite characters in theaters, and fans are able to feel as if they were in the characters' world. During the end of 2018 and into 2019, the company's Marvel Studios and DC Films have released trailers for their future films. The Maroon and Gray looks ahead to review some of the upcoming movies of 2019.
The minimum wage is the lowest possible rate that employers can pay employees. It was first introduced in 1938 at a rate of $0.25 an hour. At the time, the purpose of setting a minimum wage was to stabilize a post-depression economy in the United States. It was also used to protect the workers in a labor force.
Country’s Diminishing Resources Leave People in Need
Yemen, a country which is located on the Arabian peninsula in Asia, is currently experiencing the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. The crisis primarily began with the 2011–2012 revolution against former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who had led Yemen for more than three decades. Issues intensified with the start of the Yemen War in 2015. The United States had 100 military advisors that were supporting the government’s fight against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
Nutley High School received a security threat shortly after the Parkland shooting in Florida this past February. In addition to NHS, many schools throughout the state of New Jersey faced copycat threats during this time. The threat prompted a quick response from the district and police, and Nutley Public Schools were closed for one day, following the threat. Since then, there have numerous evaluations and changes made to procedures and protocols to continue to protect the community, schools, students, and staff.
Nutley High School students first began creating articles 100 years ago as a group; the news outlet was formerly known as the Attic, then the Gauntlet, and now it is currently known as the Maroon and Gray. The Maroon and Gray continues to highlight and discuss the different topics shown on their updated online website: arts and entertainment, features, news, and sports. Many students have moved on from Nutley High School, and they can still be seen on the articles, however, there are some students who remain a part of school.
Most people usually begin to receive an education when they enter elementary school. After passing through their first few years of education, they move onto middle school and high school, where it becomes more challenging. Once people enter college, they begin to focus on the things that interest them the most. The things that they decide to focus on will lead them to a career. We each go through many years of schooling, and by the end, we hopefully earn the jobs that we have always strived for.
