Every season, every NFL team has a few players that have a “breakout season.” Some are expected and some are very unexpected. In order for a player to breakout, they must have things go right, whether its cause of coaching, schemes, team chemistry or more. For example someone who had a big breakout season last year was Maxx Crosby. I’ll be talking about players that I think will have a breakout season and ones that need a breakout season.
Every student athlete has the goal of leaving behind a legacy. Whether with accolades or championships, Senior Matt Pergola is leaving behind his in Nutley Lacrosse. Matt has been playing lacrosse for years and has been perfecting his craft. Matt has always been ahead in lacrosse. When entering as a freshman, Matt started on varsity, which is very impressive.
Football is a sport enjoyed by many people in the United States. People from all age ranges and genders enjoy it. Therefore, when Nutley introduced that they were making a girl's flag football team, some girls were ecstatic. "When I heard that flag football was becoming a sport for girls, I signed up,” NHS senior Mackenzie Albert said. Nutley was able to go through with adding a girl's flag football team due to the amount of interest they got.
Major League Baseball, also known as the MLB, has been a league for so long that it has been named “America’s Pastime.” People may think that a league with such a long history would not have any issues. Wrong. This year, players are upset, owners won’t budge, and the commissioner fails to pick a side and won’t say his feelings about the situation. All of this has caused what is called a “lockout.”
David Ortiz, also known as Big Papi, is a and will forever be a Boston legend. He has done so much on and off the field for the city; he was there when Boston needed him the most.

One person that everyone seems to forget is Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving. Kyrie Irving was the first overall selection in the 2011 draft and was born in Melbourne, Australia, but was raised in New Jersey. Kyrie Irving is only 29-years old and is in his 11th year in the league. Kyrie started off his career playing for the Clevland Cavaliers. Then after six years, he signed with the Boston Celtics.
Already in his five years of coaching, Lincoln Riley has a better repertoire than most of his peers in the college football world. Even though Lincoln is leaving the University of Oklahoma that doesn’t mean he didn’t have success with them.
This year, the MLB postseason started on November 5th. Only 10 teams out of 30 make it to the playoffs.The teams that made it this year were the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Rays, and the Chicago White Sox which are all American League teams. On the National League side, the Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, and the Milwaukee Brewers made the post season.
