NFL Players Who Need Breakout Seasons

Every season, every NFL team has a few players that have a “breakout season.” Some are expected and some are very unexpected. In order for a player to breakout, they must have things go right, whether its cause of coaching, schemes, team chemistry or more. For example someone who had a big breakout season last year was Maxx Crosby. I’ll be talking about players that I think will have a breakout season and ones that need a breakout season.

One player that I actually think needs a breakout season is Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. He is actually setup perfectly for a breakout season with a new asset added to the team which is wide receiver Tyreek Hill, one of the best receivers in the game. So it is crucial for them two to be on the same page so they can have a great season. People have also been raving about how Tua’s accuracy is much better now and has a chance to solidify his name as a franchise QB. If he also breakouts he would be getting one of them sweet long-term and high paying contracts everyone dreams of. The only thing slowing down Tua is his arm strength. It lacks compared to other QBs and people worry he might not be able to get the ball to Tyreek cause Tyreek is such a deep threat and if you don’t have great arm power then how are you gonna get the ball to him. This is Tua’s year to prove to the nfl that he is a “guy” in the league.

The next player that needs a breakout season is New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley. Saquon, these last few years, has been battling injuries. He only played one full season other than last year. His best season was his jaw-dropping rookie season rushing for 1,307 yards and 8 rushing touchdowns. Last year was very disappointing for him, but it also didn’t help that he didn’t get much or any help from his offensive linemen. We know Saquon has the talent to be the best running back in the league, it's just a matter of if he can stay healthy and if his teammates can pick up their slack. Watching Saquon is electrifying because he can make a play that looks like nothing into something. That's how good he is and needs to be.

The last player I will be talking about is Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown also known as Hollywood Brown. Marquise Brown was traded during the draft from the Baltimore Ravens to the Cardinals. The Cardinals gave up a first-round pick for Hollywood. Some people saw this as giving up too much for him because he is due for a new contract soon and he has some dropping the ball issues. I think Hollywood will have a breakout season due to the fact that he is back with his college quarterback Kyler Murray. The two at Oklahoma University were unstoppable and were putting up miraculous numbers. Now put them together along with one of the best receivers in the league they should be unstoppable and it gives easier matchups for Hollywood Brown since he is no longer a team's number one receiver but instead, he is their number two. Some people flourish in the number two role and Marquise Brown is one person I see doing that. Expect career setting numbers for Hollywood this year.
