Why I'm Excited For What's Next

Like many other high school seniors out there, this is not how I thought my senior year would end. When we got the news that we were going to be out of school for about two weeks, everyone was like, “Sweet! Two week break,” but little did we know that those were our last moments in high school. It’s been three months since and it still feels so strange. Although I’m extremely sad of what we lost- prom and [possibly] graduation- I’m very excited for the future.

Unlike the rest of my classmates, I’m hopping across the pond to the University of East London to study psychology. I’m excited to transition into this next chapter of my life and say goodbye to the old one. Nutley will forever be a part of me, but I’m ready to be somewhere new and somewhat reinvent myself. I mean, it’s London for crying out loud- new city, new accents, new experiences, and new people. But, I think the thing I’m most excited for are the spontaneous trips I’m going to be taking to countries all across Europe- Paris one day and Santorini the next!

I’m excited to see what my fellow classmates accomplish in the future and what paths they are headed in! I know this is not how we wanted things to end, but it is what it is. I like to believe things happen for a reason and I’m sure life will work itself out and we’ll see each other again.
