Vicchiariello Optimistic for Upcoming Spring Concert
Band Director Vincent Vicchiariello is certain the next band concert in the spring for Nutley High School will “push and challenge” the performers. Vicchiariello, supervisor of Fine & Performing Arts/Career & Technical Education, will be the conductor of the band for the spring concert.
The freshman band students Valentina Mantione and Cara D’Andrea are unsure about the next concert. “Dynamics and musicianship” are the concerns of D’Andrea, while the “rhythms and balance” are the main concerns of Mantione.
“However, we can get as close to a perfect performance as possible with constant practice and retaining what [Vicchiariello] teaches us,” Mantione said.
“As long as the band all tries their best and move on from mistakes, I believe they will be very successful” Vicchiariello said.
Although the songs the band will be playing is undecided, they could be playing “Covington Square” said Mantione and D’Andrea.
The last concert was “a great display of talent from our entire music department” said Vicchiariello.
