Holiday Sweater Day at NHS

Embrace Your Holiday Spirit

Nutley High School takes on Holiday Spirit Week

Nutley High School hosted its annual Spirit Week, which took place the week of December 18 to December 22. It was a fun and creative week that gave the students of NHS the opportunity to dress up and show their true holiday spirit. This event was was created by NHS teacher, Ms. Brady and the NHS Student Council.

The week was full of fun and was different the the typical days for students. Each day of Spirit Week was a different theme:  Monday, Holiday Pajama Day;  Tuesday, Holiday Ties, Scarves, or Socks Day;  Wednesday, Blizzard Day (wear white);  Thursday, Holiday Sweater Day;  Friday,  Holiday Colors Day.  Staff and students were all notified, in advance, and encouraged to participate.

“The benefits of students dressing up for Spirit Week are that the students are able to be festive during the holiday season, while still maintaining an academic environment,” said Ms. Brady.  “The student leaders created Spirit Week to increase school spirit throughout the school year."

Student Council and Ms. Brady made it very special for her students to celebrate the holidays this year. “ I enjoy participating in holiday spirit week with my students," Ms. Brady said. "My favorite day this year was Holiday Sweater Day."

Holiday Spirit Week was enjoyed by many, throughout the school. Staff and students of all grade levels enjoyed the opportunity to feel festive.“ It was fun because we all got to get creative, and I got to see everyone's outfits," said freshman Heather Moraski. "It was different than usual.”
