At 11:30 a.m. on June 7, 2020,  I stood in a clearing within a crowd of over 100 people near Yanticaw’s Frank Cocchiola Playground. The Township of Nutley organized a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest to join the millions of voices across the country. Signs were held up high in the air, ranging from “Educators for Black Lives” to the names of victims of police brutality. 

As of May 21, 2020, there have been over five million cases of Covid-19 worldwide. This virus  has become a pandemic, and a vaccine is needed desperately. 

For those in the Nutley Public Schools, quarantine, self-isolation and virtual learning started on March 16, 2020. These have been difficult times, and everyone is getting slight cabin fever. With over 111,1188 infections in New Jersey as of April 27, it's safer to stay inside. Despite this, it doesn’t make it easier.

The Coronavirus, dubbed as COVID-19, has been taking the world by storm since it’s first diagnosis in Wuhan, China on December 31, 2019. From there, it spread to more than 146 different countries, including, but not limited, to the United States, Canada, Iran, Japan, Italy, France, India, the United Kingdom, Russia, and even Ireland. 

As of February 10, 2020, about 43,090 people have contracted the Coronavirus and 1,016 people have died.

The Novel Coronavirus, also known as the Wuhan Coronavirus, was first discovered in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. A coronavirus is a blanket term for multiple strains of virus; the common cold being one of them. Yet these two viruses can’t be more different. 

Romaine lettuce is found in nearly every salad you can think of. It’s low in calories and sodium and filled with vitamins and minerals. It’s only around eight calories per cup, so it’s no wonder this lettuce is popular. It’s great for diets and low in carbohydrates and sugar. And even better, it tastes good.

"Modern Love" is a column run by the New York Times where anyone from anywhere can submit their stories of love. Its main point is to prove that any type of love is valid. Not all love is between two lovers. It can be parents, pets, children, you name it. Not all types of love need to be romantic. 

Being a school counselor is not for the faint of heart. Students come to them throughout the day to ask for advice, change their classes, and sometimes just to talk about the things that have been bothering them. In this day and age where people are encouraged to talk about their mental health, a counselor has their hands full constantly. They face each and every person they see with respect and attention.
