The last couple of years at Nutley High School, the varsity baseball team has had a lot of success. The baseball team has had many talented athletes come through the program and one is Josh O'Neill. Josh has been on the varsity team for all four years of his high school career. His senior year, Josh achieved a huge milestone in his career, achieving 200 strikeouts. This is very special because Nutley plays very good teams in their league such as Seton Hall Prep, Montclair, and Don Bosco Prep.

Over the course of my four years at Nutley I have tried five different sports. I tried soccer, volleyball, softball, basketball, and cross country. I have accomplished many things here at Nutley High School and I am proud of every one of them. Being involved in sports is just natural to my family and me. My parents influenced me to try playing different sports at a young age and it was something I really enjoyed.

There were many great performances at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards, held on February 10, 2019 in Los Angeles. Shawn Mendes, Post Malone, Alicia Keys, and many others performed. Replacing James Corden, the 2017 and 2018 host, this year’s show was hosted by Alicia Keys.

The Athletic Department at Nutley High School is run by Director of Athletics, Mr. Joe Piro. Helping to run the department behind scenes is Ms. Javanna Ritacco, assistant secretary to the Director of Athletics. Mr. Piro is in charge of all elements of the program and according to Ritacco is, “one of the best at this job.”  

At Nutley High School, some seniors’ athletic seasons are coming to a close, and many of the athletes will not see the field again.  After playing a sport for four years with the same people, the athletes have created a bond with their teammates and coaches that will be with them forever.  Some athletes will not be continuing their athletic career in college and their four years will come to an end.
