What the Trumps Did in England

Recently, the President of the United States,Donald J. Trump, went to New England on a political visit to discuss the country’s relationship with the United Kingdom and their military ties. The President spent three days in England: June 3rd, 4th, and 5th. This was the President's second visit to the UK since his term began, although the first also included a golf trip.

Following are the details of his June 2019 visit.

Day 1: Monday, June 3, 2019

• The Trumps, the President and First Lady, arrived in the UK and were greeted by the Queen, Duke of Cornwall, and Prince of Wales.

• The President then went to have a private lunch with the Queen, and viewed some historical artifacts.

• The President and First Lady then went on a tour of Westminster with the Duke of York where they visited the grave of the unknown soldier and laid a wreath upon it.

• The Duchess of Cornwall and and Prince Charles met with the Trumps for tea at Clarence Tea House.

• There was a state banquet that took place in the ballroom of the palace, that the Queen and the President attended, they both gave a speech.

Day 2: Tuesday, June 4, 2019

• Prime Minister Theresa May and the President hosted a breakfast at St James’ Palace for US and UK business leaders.

• Theresa May and the President continued to spend the day together and held a joing press-conference.

• The President then hosted a dinner. The Queen did not attended, but had Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall attend in her steed.

Day 3: Wednesday, June 5, 2019

• The President and First Lady went with Prince Charles and the Queen to pay tribute to the 75th Anniversary of D-Day at SouthSea Common, Portsmouth.

• The President and First Lady then traveled to Ireland to have a meeting with Leo Varadkar, who is the Irish Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Leader of Fine Gael (a political party).

The rest of the trip remained unpolitical. The Trumps stayed overnight in a hotel while they golfed in a resort located in Co Clare. They shortly returned to the US, to then resume their normal affairs.
