Adele's New Album "30"

Adele, A 33-year-old British singer, recently released her new album “30” on November 19, 2021. According to CNN, the album has claimed the title to be the “fastest-selling album of 2021 in both the US and the UK.” The album became a big hit just three days after it came out, selling more than 660,000 equivalent album units, including all the audio and video streamings. Even though her album didn’t get as much recognition as her other album “25,” Adele has said that she created “30” to explain her divorce to her son, which really touched her heart.

Adele's new album “30” was one of the most personal albums she has ever written in her career. It talks about her divorce, the anxiety, and her reinvention after her divorce happened. She says that she didn’t want to end up like other people she knew that were in their marriages, miserable. According to MSN Adele says “it’s just, like, it was my hell.” Adele saw where her relationship was going to go.

Her album was not only meant for the world to understand the truth about her divorce, but it was mainly for her 9-year-old son, Angelo, to understand in the future why the divorce happened. “I wanted to explain to him through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness,” she says according to BBC. It’s been hard for Adele’s son to understand the divorce, and that really hurts her knowing that her son is unhappy.

The last thing she wants is her son to hurt, according to BBC “It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll be able to heal,” she says. The reason why Adele titled her recent album “30” was because that was the age she married her husband at the time, Simon Konecki, and then left, stated by BBC.

Adele does feel horrible for being the reason why her son is unhappy but is hoping that one day she can forgive herself, according to BBC. “If I can find that happiness and he sees me in that happiness, then maybe I’ll be able to forgive myself for it,” she says. She chose to be happy rather than miserable even though her son hurts right now.

The album will later on make him understand what happened, and she hopes that it maybe make him more understand the situation.
