The Voice Concludes Another Exciting Finale

The Voice just concluded another exciting season with its 15th winner.  Many fan favorites were eliminated throughout the season like DeAndre Nico, MaKenzie Thomas, and Sandy Redd, but at the end, the popular competition television show was ready to pick a winner among the four contestants.

 

The last standing contestants wre Chevel Shepherd on Kelly Clarkson’s team, Chris Kroeze and Kirk Jayon on Blake Shelton’s team and Kennedy Holmes on Jennifer Hudson’s team. The race to finish kept fans on their feet. On Tuesday, December 17, a two-hour live finale took place at 8:00 pm on NBC and left fans shocked at the results. People who watched The Voice were able to vote for 24 hours following the last episode. Chevel Sheperd, a 16-year-old from New Mexico, won first place and her coach Kelly Clarkson was very proud of her proud. Along with that, runner up was Chris Kroeze; Kirk Jay won third place, and Kennedy Holmes took on fourth place.

 

The finale took place in two parts over two days. The contestants sang one cover song, performed a duet with their coach and sang their first ever original song.

 

On team Blake, Chris Kroeze performed a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama.”  The second artist representing Team Blake, Kirk Jay, also performed a country song, titled “Defenseless,” written by Nashville hitmaker Nicolle Galyon. Kennedy Holmes from Team “J-Hud” performed her original song “Love is Free.”  Winner Chevel Shepherd performed with the song cover of Tanya Tucker’s “It’s a Little Too Late.” After her performance, her coach said, “the best kind of artists to work with are the ones that don’t think they know it all and they have fun learning, and they have fun challenging themselves, and you are that girl. So I cannot wait to hear records from you. You are so talented.”  

 

The judges Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Blake Shelton, and Kelsea Ballerini were astonished at these performances.  Some other stars guessed starred on the finale and performed their most favorited songs. Brynn Cartelli, Season 14 winner of The Voice, performed her new self-penned song “Last Night’s Mascara” off her forthcoming debut project arriving next year.  The track follows her single “Walk My Way,” which peaked at number two on the all-genre iTunes Charts and garnered over two million streams in the U.S. alone.  The rock band Panic! At The Disco played two of their songs, “High Hopes” and “Hey Look Ma, I Made It,” two hits off of their latest number one album. DJ and producer Marshmello performed his latest single, “Happier,” featuring British band Bastille.    

 

After an exciting season, the 16th season of The Voice is set to air February 25, 2019, on NBC.  Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Kelly Clarkson return as coaches in the new season.  However, John Legend will join the team as a new coach, replacing Jennifer Hudson.
