Pro Bowl Game Disappoints

The Pro Bowl is the all-star game of the NFL. Every year, the greatest players from the NFC and AFC compete in an exhibition game to honor their season accomplishments. Players that participate have achieved explementary statistics during the regular seasons and were hand selected to represent their division.

At Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the AFC took home the victory  41-35, making it five straight triumphs over the NFC. The Raiders Defensive end, Maxx Crosby was named Defensive MVP, while the Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was named Offensive MVP. This game was highly anticipated and drew in 6.69 million viewers. The game was quite interesting to say the least. 

Both teams had tremendous talent and excited fans. Spectors in the stadium and at home were soon disappointed. The objective, as players stated throughout the practice week, was to have a good time and come away uninjured.

Deion Sanders, former NFL defensive back and eight-time Pro Bowler, shared his thoughts on his official Twitter and compared his experience to what he witnessed Sunday afternoon. “Lord help me. I’m watching the Pro Bowl and I remember when we were so proud and appreciative of that accolade. We went to Hawaii to prove we were more than worthy so we competed at practice and in the game. I wanted you to know that PRIME was PRIME ! What Happened & When ?” To be nominated to play in the Pro Bowl is something that not every NFL player gets and is something to be taken seriously. 

The Pro Bowl was simply anticlimactic. I think the main takeaway from this Pro Bowl is that it should have been more seriously and the players should be more enthusiastic about what an honor it is to be playing in the Pro bowl. Fans were anticipating seeing some of their favorite players play their hearts out but the game simply didn't deliver.
