Following the NCAA’s March Madness Selection Sunday show, Tom Brady surprised the whole National Football League (NFL) world by announcing he would be coming out of retirement for his 23rd season. Despite wanting to focus more of his time and attention towards his family and other businesses, he immediately started to second guess himself not even a week after his retirement.

Coach Salvatelli Gets Ready for the Spring Season

Taking on a huge role isn't easy, but for Coach Mike Salvatelli, Nutley's newest head lacrosse coach it is a job he is ready and equipped for. The season started on Monday, March 7th and players and coaches are excited. This team will be the first to play under the new lights that will illuminate the Nutley Oval on April 6th. People are speculating this will be the largest lacrosse crowd Nutley has seen.

2022 USWNT SheBelieves Cup

After the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) won the 2015 Women’s World Cup 5-2 over Japan, soccer in women’s sports changed forever. This was a monumental win because the women faced many years of not being successful in their run of the tournament and had a lot to prove. Since this was such a major turning point in women's sports, this championship inspired the USWNT to create a friendly tournament of their own, the SheBelieves Cup.

The 79 day wait for Major League Soccer fans all over the world has come to an end as M.L.S. is back for its 26th season in existence featuring young talent, new faces, and most importantly bitter rivalries. Nine months of passionate soccer being played amongst 28 teams across America was set to commence in 2022. From February 26th to February 27th, all teams loaded with talented young stars and battle-tested veterans returned to the field for nothing but 90 minutes of entertaining soccer. Arenas were sold out packed with M.L.S.

Nutley High School's New Boy's Volleyball Program

Boys' volleyball is the newest addition to the collection of sports at Nutley High School (NHS). The newly approved coaches consist of head coach Kevin Reilly and assistant coach Amy Gewecke who both previously coached during the girls' volleyball season. Tryouts will begin on Friday, March 11, and will run for about a week. Any male student from Nutley High School is eligible and encouraged to try out. The program will consist of a Junior Varsity and Varsity team.

A New Nutley Experience: Girls' Flag Football

This coming spring, Nutley High School is doing something very different. There will be a girls' flag football team. The coaches are Mr. Porrino and Mr. Coppola, who both also coach for boys' football in the fall. This is a huge moment for Nutley because something like this has never happened before. Mr. Porrino is very excited to see “what kind of fan support we could have especially if we have Friday night games in the oval.” The flag football league was started by the New York Jets. They began this league last year, starting with only eight teams.

One person that everyone seems to forget is Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving. Kyrie Irving was the first overall selection in the 2011 draft and was born in Melbourne, Australia, but was raised in New Jersey. Kyrie Irving is only 29-years old and is in his 11th year in the league. Kyrie started off his career playing for the Clevland Cavaliers. Then after six years, he signed with the Boston Celtics.

Looking Back on the NFL Divisional Round Weekend

The remaining eight teams in the NFL duked it out for a chance to play in their respective Conference Championship games. Each game had winning plays come with the final play of the game. While some games gave NFL fans more to talk about than others, each game was a nail-biter and left some fans exasperated but some left with a dream. Every player left it all on the field and gave it everything they had, but only four teams came out content.

Carli Lloyd is a former professional soccer player for the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT), and has bounced around from teams in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). However, Carli’s career initially began during her time playing for Delran High School from 1997-2000. Throughout her time playing for Delran, what stood her apart from the rest of the team was her composure on the ball, and her ability to transition it to other players from any point of the field.

The Downward Spiral Continues For The Career Of Antonio Brown

Throughout his career, Antonio Brown had a series of troubles on and off the field which led to suspensions, fines, and overall being trashed all over the web because of his actions. Back in February of 2019, Brown was involved in a domestic dispute, though he wasn't arrested in the incident. A week later, he was found guilty of reckless driving. It would be just the beginning of the receiver's legal troubles. Immediately the Pittsburgh Steelers organization led by owner Art Rooney II took action and released Antonio Brown.
